Daniel Bridge (talk abstract and minimalism) at Mycenae House
New for 2025, Daniel's Abstract and Minimalism photography talk looks at ways to refine and simplify compositions, creating abstract images from a variety of different subjects, making use of techniques such as Intentional Camera Movement (ICM), long exposures, making use of windows and doors to frame a view, and more.
Daniel also discusses how he uses selective vision to home in on the relevant details to include, avoiding extraneous elements to highlight what caught his eye in the first place.
This is also the pre-cursor talk to the BOB 2 competition on “Abstract or Minimal”.

Talk - Jack Lodge on Wildlife Photography (on Zoom)
Members enjoyed Jack’s talk last year where we had a flavour of his wild life work and particularly photography of Barn Owls.
In this online talk, Jack shares the evolving obsession of learning to see animals not as subjects within a scene, but as the scene itself. Blending patience, instinct, persistence and adrenaline, the talk follows the transition from wide, open landscapes to fleeting moments of life within them. Through his photographs, stories, and honest reflections, Jack explores how a background in landscapes has shaped his approach to wildlife, and how turning wild has changed the way he sees the natural world altogether.
